russian sage saga

As far as sheer shimmery purples go Russian Sage is it for me. I wore this a couple of weeks ago to see The Wombats (awesome indie band from Liverpool) and despite the dancing around and doing god knows what with my hands it held up pretty well so good job Misa, I say.

mostly mink

Mink is my one and only polish from RGB but if they're all as lovely as this polish then I must have more! Of course I gravitated towards this colour, what with it being a browny taupe and all. I only wore this for 2 days since I was in the mood for a change but I had no chipping during that time which is nice since some polishes chip on me in less then a day. Do you have any RGB polishes? Which ones do you recommend?

blush diamond

I was recently lucky enough to come across some of the Sally Hansen Nail Prism polishes and let me just say, I am in love. I wish this line was still available because they are seriously gorgeous. The first polish I tried was Blush Diamond which is a medium pink holographic with pretty much perfect application. I'm really not one for this type of pink shade but the holo was so pretty that I didn't mind so much... Do you have anything from this line? What do you think of them?

unknown but highly gorgeous borghese

My god, I love this polish! It's a beautiful purple/green duo-chrome. It applied perfectly in two thin coats and wore really well. Unfortunately this particular bottle doesn't have a label so therefore I have no idea what the name of the colour is but it's by Borghese and is like nothing else I own. Just lovely. x

kym

On the hunt for my perfect red polish I came across Kym by Zoya. It's a dark shimmering red with a hint of copper brilliance. I am in love with this polish. It looks particularly lovely in artificial lighting for some odd reason. It's not what I'm looking for 'perfect' red wise but it's amazing none the less. This will be on my nails quite a bit this winter I feel.

berlin binge

This gorgeous shimmery black is Berlin by Australian brand Modelista (yes, lame name, I know). It's the first and so far only thing I have from this brand but while not unique I'm actually really loving this polish. The multicoloured micro glitter just really makes this polish come to life. Great for when I'm in the mood for something dark and vampy but with a fun edge. I might have to see if there are any other colours worth picking up from this line.

really russian navy

Russian Navy was the OPI polish I wanted before I even really knew what OPI was. I saw a model wearing it in a magazine and thought it looked edgy and chic and something I certainly wanted to try for myself. At the time I didn't live somewhere that readily sold OPI and besides the RRP in Australia is $20, far too much for a polish. At least that was my opinion at the time...I've since paid more then that for a single polish, although not often.

A couple of months ago I finally got around to purchasing Russian Navy, thanks to my e-tailer of choice. It's not as fabulous as my younger self would have liked it to be but I love it all the same and think it makes a beautiful addition to my ever growing collection. x

kieko crazy

My god I love Zoya cremes! I always know I love them but it seems I never remember quite how much until I actually have one on my nails. This is Kieko from the creme half of the summer collection. If it looks a little familiar to you it's because it's actually pretty close to another Zoya polish I've posted on here, Demi. I'm pretty sure I would never have gotten both if I'd realised how similar they are but I think I'll be keeping both anyway since they are a little different...

art nouv-yellow

Since bright yellow polishes seem to be all the rage at the moment I thought I may as well suck it up, be brave and try one out for myself. I went with Finger Paints, Art Nouv-yellow and I have to admit - it's just not my thing. Yellow, while pretty, does nothing for my skin tone. This is one nail trend that I just can't get behind. I think it can look great on the right person but I'm still not convinced that yellow is a must have polish colour. What do you think about yellow? go or no?

blue steel goes patina pearl

Sometime last week I was wearing Blue Steel by Australian brand Chi Chi which is a very vibrant shimmery royal blue and while it's lovely by itself I was getting a little bored with it so I decided to see what Patina Pearl by Borghese looked like over it. I love the way this combination turned out! Patina Pearl, as it turns out, has these amazing tiny pink glitter particles that really stood out against the blue. Gorgeous!

totally tauped

Yes, I know. I have a sickness. Taupey browns, grays and pretty much any kind of muddy, dusky or muted colours really get me going. How could they not? They're just so beautiful! Tauped by Sonia Kashuk is no exception and the formula and wear time on this was just an added bonus. I wore this for 4 days with only minimal tip wear. Perfection. If you're wondering how this shade compares to other similar seeming polishes KarenD did a lovely post over here which I wholly recommend. x

ready for venetian red

Still on my red hunt and I own about half a dozen from Borghese. Venetian Red is only the second one I've tried and it's pretty, I like it but it's not my perfect red. Venetian Red is a dark but vibrant red with a noticeable shimmer. It's quite adult and classy but it's just not what I'm looking for. What I'm looking for exactly I don't know but I'll know when it's on my nails! Hopefully...

lucerne-tainly look marvelous

Another gorgeous polish from OPI's Swiss collection. Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous was one of the polishes I originally wanted from this collection but when I got it I wasn't overly wowed by the bottle so it has sat untried and unloved in my collection until now. I honestly don't know what I was thinking because this polish is just lovely! The shade and the finish are just perfect and I can see myself wearing the heck out of this one. x

carrie ann fan

Have to say I love Zoya. Their shimmery polishes are unlike anything else I've come across and their cremes apply like a dream and come in the loveliest shades. Carrie Ann is a shade that I probably wouldn't have come to on my own but am mighty glad to have in my collection all the same. There is something so beautiful about shimmery red nails and like I've said Zoya certainly know how to do shimmer. I was in the mood for something a little different when I was wearing this; however, so I went ahead and added a coat of Barry M's Pink Nail Effects and I love the way it turned out. The mix of shimmer and creme along with the contrast of pink and red really worked for me and I think this is a combination I'll be wearing again.

sorry for the blurry!

botticelli nude

So glad Blogger's finally working! It was down all day yesterday and I was at quite a loss actually. Is that sad? Also I think about 4 comments got deleted from some of my more recent posts so that's sad hopefully they'll come back when blogger maintenance is over. Anyway.

Still making my way through my Borghese lot of polish. This particular one is Botticelli Nude and it is just a sheer creamy nude colour that makes your nails look nice and clean. I don't have a lot to say about this polish. It didn't wow me but it was nice enough... my favourite nude is still Revitanail's Cashmere Latte.

choose me!

Essence has only just made their may to Australian retailers and is still quite hard to find. I only know of one place near me that has an Essence stand. Choose Me! is the first Essence polish I've tried and so far I'm impressed. Choose Me! is a dupe for Orly's Haley's Comet (which I love). The pictures below are only one coat since I was feeling lazy and while it could use an extra coat I think you can easily get away with just the one. I've had this on my toes for over a week and it still looks great. Will certainly be picking up more of these.
