gotta be gem

I feel like I've been posting a lot of holos lately. Which is odd since I'm not even the biggest holo fan but I guess I brought a bunch around the same time to see what all the fuss was about. So anyhow.
This is Gem from Nubar and it's not your average holo. For starters most holographic polishes are smooth to the touch once applied. This was gritty but easily remedied with a good topcoat.. The holographic particles were larger then you regularly see but I thought it was still pretty. A nice nude scattered holo effect. Nice and subtle/easy to wear. Nubar V.rarely lets me down though. One of my fav brands for sure.

in love with indigo illusion

I don't know why I don't own more Nubar polishes...? They are just so lovely! Indigo Illusion is a particular favourite. I love a good duo chrome and Nubar definitely do good duo chromes. I find this to be a fun colour to wear. It's sort of neutralish but has that interesting flash to it. Makes me happy to look down at my nails when I'm wearing it.

bravo for barricade

Yes it's another gray. And yes it's another Nubar gray. What can I say? The Fortress Collection killed me. You know, in a good way... Barricade is very similar to another colour I've featured, Palisade, the only real difference being the base colour which is yellow/green for Barricade and blue for Palisade. Personally I love both of them but Palisade suits me better and is therefore my winner! Hopefully the constant assault of Palisade and Barricade wasn't too confusing for the senses...

raspberry truffle triumph

Raspberry Truffle was the first Nubar polish I lusted after and is it any wonder? This polish is a deep beautiful brown base with glowing particles of raspberry red glitter. So unique and lovely. The perfect polish for when you're feeling a little bit vampy but still want that sparkle.

knight's super sparkly armor

Glitter polishes are back in a big way at the moment so I thought I'd share one of my favourites that's a little left of centre. Yet another polish from Nubars fortress collection. Knight's Armor is a black base filled to the brim with medium sized silver glitter. This polish is sparkly and attention seeking without being gaudy and obvious. I love wearing this polish and am surprised that I don't see it featured on more blogs. One to check out, me thinks.

joy to flakies

So last week I painted my nails with the China Glaze polish, Joy. Later in the day a got nail mail in the form of Nubars 2010 topcoat which I've wanted for so long now. I didn't really think it would look that great over Joy but I was too impatient to wait and thank goodness for that because I ended up LOVING the combination. So amazingly pretty!!! Will definitely wear these together again. Do you have the 2010 topcoat or Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure (*cough* dupe *cough*)? What do you think of flakie glitter topcoats?

silver sword saviour

I'm going to start by saying these pictures are rubbish. I was rushed when applying and my light was disappearing by the time I whipped my camera out; however, this polish is perfection. Dark gray with silver shimmer shot through it. gorgeous! I'm finding that I love all of the Fortress collection by Nubar. Best formulas and the kind of colours that get me really excited. I think I eventually want them all even though a bunch of the gray cremes are extremely similar just suited for different skin tones but I don't know which one suits me best so I'm willing to do my research by way of shopping... hahaha. It's official. I'm addicted.

playing with palisade

Palisade by Nubar from their Fortress collection is one of my all time favorite grays. Simply love it. But I can't seem to leave well enough alone at the moment so I added a coat of OPIs Teenage Dream over the top. I quite like the effect but I still prefer plain ole' Palisade all by its lonesome. What do you think? prefer the plain creme or is it better blinged up?
