blue moon moan

Let me just ay right of the bat, that Barry M's Blue Moon was the biggest pain in the butt to apply! Seriously very frustrating! So sheer and patchy and cuticle draggy, just URGH! the colour itself is actually super pretty but it was just so much effort. I ended up smudging like 3 separate nails right after I took these pictures so I just gave up and took it off but I'm not going to give up all together. I'll find a better less stressful way of making this polish work for me, just you wait and see! :)

perfectly peach melba

I thought I had made such a mistake by ordering this polish when it showed up by nail mail. I thought it was too similar to shades I already owned like Peachy Keen by China Glaze and Tart Deco and Van D'Go by Essie. All the above polishes mentioned are beautiful but they also all look rubbish on me. Thankfully Peach Melba has just enough pink in it to work a hell of a lot better with my skin tone. So thank you Barry M for not making a fool out of me yet again and creating a creme peach polish that works for me!

going grey

For anyone who's a fan of Barry M polishes, Grey is a must have. It's a gorgeous medium toned grey creme with a high gloss finish. This is the perfect subdued polish to put on when you're undecided about what to wear.

carrie ann fan

Have to say I love Zoya. Their shimmery polishes are unlike anything else I've come across and their cremes apply like a dream and come in the loveliest shades. Carrie Ann is a shade that I probably wouldn't have come to on my own but am mighty glad to have in my collection all the same. There is something so beautiful about shimmery red nails and like I've said Zoya certainly know how to do shimmer. I was in the mood for something a little different when I was wearing this; however, so I went ahead and added a coat of Barry M's Pink Nail Effects and I love the way it turned out. The mix of shimmer and creme along with the contrast of pink and red really worked for me and I think this is a combination I'll be wearing again.

sorry for the blurry!

rubino red razz

I'm slowly, slowly coming around to red nail polish. I've always liked it on other people but never so much on me. I really do; however, love the brightness of Rubino Red by Borghese. I always expect red polishes to make my skin look redder but I found this polish made my already pale skin look even whiter (which I actually don't mind). I think I might have to go on a red polish hunt...What's your favourite red polish?

toscano spice gets cracked in blue!

Super in love with this manicure! I would never have thought of this combination normally but I was already wearing Borghese's Toscano Spice when my Barry M Nail effects in blue showed up and since I was too impatient to wait I just slopped it on over Toscano Spice and I could not be happier with it! Toscano Spice is a warm apricot type nude with some subtle shimmer and surprisingly (to me at least) is the perfect base for the dusty but bright blue of the Barry M crackle/shatter/nail effects. Love it! What do you guys think? Yay of nay?

new nail effects!

Looks like Barry M is stepping up to the demand for more coloured crackle polish. I love my black Nail Effects polish so can't wait to try some of the other colours. Especially the blue. So pretty!

white on white on black

The crackle/shatter/effects trend has been everywhere of late and I have seen some simply amazing combinations but I have to say that one of my favourites is still the classic white and black. Very chic and fun to wear. What's your favourite?

darling dusky mauve

Another Chanel Paradoxal dupe. This time by UK brand, Barry M. Dusky Mauve is a seriously lovely brown taupe with a purple iridescence. Not that you can tell by my dodgy paint work but this polish applied beautifully. Well worth going on a hunt for.

mod about nail effects

Mod About You by OPI is a firm favourite with a lot of people and while I do love the colour, it really does my dinky nails and skin tone no favors. So when I got a craving to wear this recently I decided to mix things up with Barry M's Nail Effects polish. What I got was a trendy and much more wearable version of a cult classic. What do you think? what colours in you collection need to be altered to suit?
